Being healthy doesn’t require expensive personal trainers or dieticians – a common misconception. Most people are daunted by the idea of starting to eat/live healthily because of the time and effort it requires, which we’re here to tell you, is practically none! Here are some super easy ways to start being healthier now:
1 | Swap all sweet drinks for water
Probably the easiest way to start is to stop drinking sugary liquids and swap out everything with water. You’d be surprised how easy the pounds start to shed. Another good point to note is to drink plenty of water to keep you filling full throughout the day to decrease the odds of snacking in between.
2 | Stop frying everything
Even if you think it’s with olive oil so it’s fine and not unhealthy – wrong. Putting the oil aside, frying your food depletes its nutritional value by almost half. You’re pretty much burning away the good vitamins and fibre, so stop. Try steaming or baking your food instead – it’s tastier even.
3 | Replace snacks with fruit or nuts
Easy enough to understand – swap your potato crisps and gummy bears for dried fruit and unsalted nuts.
4 | Half all your carbohydrate portions
This is where the real struggle is. We love our carbs, in all shapes and sizes be it pasta or rice. The unfortunate fact is that these carbs are also the number one culprit in contributing to our sugar/fat/calorie content, so they need to go. Of course to completely cut out all carbs is impossible overnight, but you can start by halving your current carb portions.
5 | Stop eating after 8pm
Tell your supper bros to leave you alone for a while, because none of that late night mee goreng is happening. To optimize your body’s metabolism and prevent fat gain, abide by this strict rule. Nothing after 8pm, not even a small fruit. Drink water if you feel hungry to trick your body into thinking it’s full.
