Once you have fallen in love, it is hard to not indulge on every occasion. I am surely not the first convert to the rich Thai cuisine – neither will I be the last. Ranging from classics and all-time favourites, such as Phad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice, to more creative dishes, such as Salted Egg Chicken Drumlet, Thai food never disappoints. We went looking for another favourite – Green Thai Curry. Here are our findings, all of which are of course available via foodpanda.sg.
1 Sakon Thai
Just a few minutes walk from Potong Pasir MRT station, Sakon Thai offers authentic and rich Thai cuisine. Their spacious restaurant and terrace, as well as their friendly staff, are all very welcoming. Sakon Thai’s very extensive menu includes a few signature dishes and drinks, such as the Fuji in Love, which is a refreshing mixture of Fuji apple and watermelon.
Their green Thai curry with chicken was moderately spicy and rich in flavour, making it a well-rounded dish. If you prefer the traditional green curry without too much added ingredients and plenty of curry to soak your rice in, then you will definitely love the Sakon Thai version.
2 Cluny Thai
Part of Bar Bar Black Sheep on Tanjong Katong Road, Cluny Thai is the perfect spot to spend a relaxed weekend. Besides Thai food, you can also enjoy Indian cuisine, pizzas and other Western food all in one location. The open-doors concept makes it also a very cosy place to have a few beers – and some green curry of course.
Offering seafood, beef, and chicken, you can also request a vegetarian option. Filled with sliced carrots, green beans, cabbage, and more greens, the curry itself was very rich in flavour. Offering a strong coconut taste, the dish had a wonderful balance between being creamy and slightly spicy. This could easily become my new favourite curry – I totally recommend trying it.
3 Thai Pavilion
Choosing their seafood green curry, I was surprised by the huge prawns that I found in my curry. Very juicy and with plenty of meat, the prawns also added a subtle seafood flavour to the curry. Although the curry seemed very thick, it was not but instead offered a lot of lime taste. The green curry at the Thai Pavilion was definitely the spiciest on our list. However, if you regularly eat Thai food, you will not have any problems, but rather enjoy the strength of the curry.
4 Mookata House Thai Kitchen
Located in East Coast Park next to Big Splash, Mookata House is an ideal pit-stop when you are out on a walk in the park. Their green curry with chicken was very similar to the one at Sakon Thai, however slightly more spicy. The portion is quite generous, including plenty of chicken at the bottom of the curry. Another reason to come back is their BBQ meat set and steamboat offering.
