Are you a huge coffee lover? Did you miss out on the recent Coffee Festival that was held just few weeks ago? Or did the thought of the crowd gave you panic attacks that is worse than not having your morning coffee?
Well, thankfully, you do not really need a Coffee Festival to enjoy coffees. As long as you know all the good coffees in Singapore, you can have your own “coffee festival” simply by cafe-hopping!
Here are 5 evilbean-tried-and-tested cafes/coffees that will almost definitely not disappoint.
1 Lola’s Cafe
Having worked in Lola’s Cafe for almost a year, I can personally vouch for their quality of coffee.
Before the start of each shifts, the baristas would calibrate the coffee machine and ensure that the coffee is of good quality before opening the door for business. Each barista also goes through multiple training before they can start serving coffees to customers. I personally went through so many “soap and water training” (yes, that’s what noob baristas train with) that I almost had a phobia for soap bubbles.
With such dedicated focus on their coffee quality, you can be ensured that your cuppa from Lola’s is always of high standard.

2 A.R.C Coffee
It is often said that the quality of your coffee is highly dependent on the barista’s skills. At A.R.C Coffee, they have not just one, but TWO champion baristas in Singapore that will prepare your latte! Your coffee is in good hands, literally!
Besides that, they also roast their own coffee beans at a mini roastery room, which further proves just how serious they are in their coffee.

3 Rise & Grind Coffee Co.
There aren’t many cafes that can get mochas right. Either they are too powdery, or they are too chocolatey. But the ones that do get that perfect balance of chocolate to coffee ratio?
HEAVEN.
And the mocha I had at Rise & Grind blew me away when I first had it. Smooth, velvety and aromatic blend of chocolate+coffee all in a single cup. I would definitely rise and grind everyday if I can wake up to this every single morning.

4 Old Hen Coffee Bar
Cold brew coffee is one of the best thing that can happen to Singaporeans. Being able to sip cold caffeine out of a chilled bottle is invigorating – both physically and mentally, especially when the weather threatens to burn you alive.
The cold brews from Old Hen Coffee Bar have gotta be one of my favourites. They have someone managed to concoct a creamy white coffee that doesn’t make you feel “jelak” from all the milk, while still retaining the aroma of the coffee. I would often drop by the cafe just to get a couple of their cold brews home.
5 Awesome Coffee
Right at the basement of Bugis Junction is a cafe kiosk that serves takeaway coffee. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the coffee that is served here, despite its inconspicuous decor. The coffee served here is strong and full-bodied, usually with smoky notes and a hint of cocoa.
Look for the male barista, he pulls excellent coffee!
